California Marine Life Protection Act Initiative Announcement

Who: The MLPA Initiative invites members of the public interested in learning more about redesigning marine protected areas (MPAs) for the north coast

What:
Save the date for a public workshop to:
 ? Receive an introduction to the MLPA and MLPA Initiative
 ? Review the north coast MPA planning process
 ? Learn the necessary components of an MPA proposal, including science and feasibility guidelines
 ? Receive basic training in MarineMap, the MLPA Initiative's online mapping tool

When: Tuesday, September 29, 2009, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Staff will also be available on Wednesday, September 30 at multiple locations to answer more detailed and specific questions.

Where: Workshop to be held in Eureka with staffed satellite locations in Crescent City and Fort Bragg. Venues to be determined, but will include in-person, teleconference and webinar options to allow you to participate from any number of locations.
